The grapes are grown on Rathdowney Estate which is situated on the Ilford Road between the towns of Rylstone and Kandos. Neil and Maureen Brodie planted the Rathdowney vineyard in 1998 and produced their first wine in 2001. The vineyard grows Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties. The wines gain a delightful complexity from the high altitude and long slow ripening period. Our association with Burnbrae Wines where our wines are made, has been invaluable, not only with excellent professional advice but with the expertise of the acclaimed winemaker Frank Newman.
